Why DigiCompress exists
Every week, millions of people need a file smaller: a CV for a job portal, a scanned passport for a visa form, a contract for email, a video for a group chat. The easiest option has been to upload it to a free website and hope for the best.
Modern browsers are powerful enough to do that work themselves. So we built a compressor where the file never leaves your device, and where privacy is a property of how the software works rather than a line in a policy.
What we hold ourselves to
- No uploads. Files are processed in your browser, full stop.
- Collect less. We record anonymous counts to run the service, never file names or contents.
- Be honest about trade-offs. Your device does the work, so very large videos take longer than on a server farm. We think that’s a fair price.
- Free to use. 3 files a day with no account; unlimited when you sign in.
